I have stayed for 3 nights at the Henry F. Shaffner House B&B, and every aspect of the stay has been perfect. The room is large, beautiful, and clean. Bed very comfortable with luxury linens. I have been working from the room, and there is a nice desk and WiFi. Breakfast is a work of art, and lunch at the Flour Box excellent as well. Mila and Mike, the innkeepers couldn’t be more welcoming, kind, and professional. They run a tight ship. The large Victorian house, built in 1907 is a time machine to an earlier era in Winston-Salem history. This is my new go-to location when staying and lunching in Winston-Salem.

My husband and I had a truly wonderful weekend. Mila was such a great host. Very clean and the food was amazing. We would definitely visit again

You can get tea (full, light, cream, or salad), or lunch, or now brunch (on Sundays at the moment). I love to go here for Full Tea or lunch. It's best to get reservations for a full or light tea but everything else is available on request. They will do special requests for Full and Light teas if you make reservations (gluten free, no sweets just extra savory, etc.) They were unable to do a dairy free tea but they do have items on their lunch menu that they can make dairy free. The pictures below is two Full Teas. We each got 3 savory items, two mini scones (cheese and vanilla), and three mini sweets. Plus we each had our own pot of tea which they will refill on request. They also have milk for the tea by request.

My daughter and I had the full tea they offer. It was wonderful. Many types of tea to choose from (Also coffees but I dont drink coffee so I can't tell you about them.) black, green, and herbal. The little sandwiches, scones, and desserts were excellent. The China is bone china and beautiful. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. If you want lunch instead of tea, try the chicken salad croissants. They are out of this world!
