Embassy Suites by Hilton Winston Salem

Checked in. The first room was dirty had not been vacuumed. The second room had hair in my bed. Called corporate and they said that the hotel had to fix it. The regional manager isn’t in until Monday. What good does that do on a Saturday?? When I booked the room it said renovations would be done. The place is a disaster. Poor customer service. Definitely not Hilton standards.

We recently booked a room with this hotel. We did overlook the renovations that were being done on the website but honestly we wouldn't have cared since we were only going to be staying one night to break up a long drive. Once we got to the hotel the staff was nice and did let us know that the room was not ready (we requested early check in). We decided to go up to the second floor to wait since it had a open area for my kids to stretch their legs and a bathroom. The second floor had an overwhelming smell of marijuana, now I know in itself isn't a big deal but I find it just as bad as cigarettes as far as smells are concerned. We decided to leave to find food. An hour later we returned to check in, the room was still not ready. We decided to go walk around to give them more time. We returned again an hour later to check-in, again we were turned away. This is now 4pm which is an hour after the normal check in time (not early check-in). The employee was nice and offered a discount but stated that he still was not able to tell us when the room would be ready. He seemed overwhelmed but very apologetic about the situation. Although we did not ask the other people that seemed to be waiting around if they were running into the same issue, it seemed very apparent that this was a common situation judging by the looks of discomfort. Just note there is currently no amenities at this hotel. I can not comment on how the rooms look like but judging that check in is at 12 and we decided to leave for another hotel at 4 30 and it still wasn't ready I can not imagine it was going to be a pleasant stay. We did receive full refund for the room. I would look at another establishment.

Very clean and well maintained rooms. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this place. Breakfast was individually packaged and they offered complimentary drinks at certain hours.

There was only boxed foods. Elevator was dirty. Hotel room was dirty. The mirror had tooth paste on it. The television kept changing the channel. The employees were nice.

This is so below the level of an Embassy Suites. This isn't a hotel, this isn't even a motel. This is slightly above the level of motor lodge.nWe reserved a room a couple of months in advance to ensure it was handicap-accessible, even verifying with someone by phone. We got there and was immediately informed there are no handicap-accessible rooms available, they are all undergoing renovation. We went ahead with the stay, for about an hour.nThe room was dirty, the toilet was dirty, there was hair on the bathroom floor, the sink had cracks in it, and the toilet does not flush properly.nThe elevator on the far left does not work properly. It takes you to the wrong floor every time. I never saw the elevator on the right move at all. The doors open and close so quickly you have to dart inside them, and if you have someone with a wheelchair, that is not an option.nI hope to goodness they honor our refund request, because we did not even stay overnight.nReputation tarnished.
