Courtyard by Marriott Winston-Salem Downtown

Nice place with good looking updated furnishings/decor in both the lobby and guest rooms. Cool outdoor fireplace. Convenient walk from parking garage. Pay attention to which entrance you pull into. One is for monthly pass holders. Our room key did not validate our parking fee on the way out and we didn't have time to problem-solve it so we just paid, but was only $9.00 for about 24 hours. Liked the double-sided mirrored closet door in bedroom. Linens felt nice and clean. Little fridge was convenient. TV was easy to use. Bathroom was updated but sink faucet choice was odd- left water all over the counter top each time it was turned on. Not a leak, just an odd design. We had noisy upstairs neighbors until about 3AM-- a room full of children jumping and screaming. No fault of the hotel. Pool is by reservation and we weren't able to get a convenient time, but this was understandable. Desk staff wore masks consistently. Housekeeping staff we passed in the hall seemed to wear masks in chins. Desk staff members seemed stressed out at times but doing their best, and there was mostly no one manning the little snack shop and the Starbucks counter (which seems to have limited offerings due to COVID?). Probably more staff needed, like every business. Convenient walk to restaurants, cafes, bookstores. Pleasant city area to stroll. It checked most of the boxes for us! Would recommend.

Definitely enjoyed our stay! The woman at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and cozy while the bathroom was spacious! The heated pool was an absolute delight and was the closing to our night. The rooftop bar was fun and the drinks and snacks were delightful. Will stay again when we return to Winston Salem!

We stayed here for a wedding we attended in town and had a great stay! All the staff were very helpful and accommodating and took measures to keep everyone safe. The rooms were modern and decorated nicely and the outdoor areas/rooftops were great. I cannot remember the name of the woman who checked us in (maybe something with a C?)nbut she went above and beyond! Would highly recommend checking out this new hotel.

I like this hotel as good or better than any I've stayed. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. The bartenders at both bars are great. The rooms are clean with very comfortable beds. The downtown location is hard to beat. I'll always stay here when I'm in town.

I stayed here one night with my wife recently. I think it's a great place! The room and hotel was very clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly and I felt safe in that they followed all social distancing/masking guidelines. I'll be staying here again!
