This used to be my go-to place for Chinese food in Durham. Their stuffed tofu hot pot and salt & pepper pork chops were really good back in the days. However, after COVID, they started decreasing the amount of meat and veggies, especially in the pork chops. Pork chops got smaller and there were too few veggies (scallions). Not sure if this is temporary, but would love to see them get back on track.
This is a great place to eat. The food is extremely well cooked. The wait is longer on Fridays and Saturdays but it's well worth it!
There is absolutely no reason for my food to take 55 mins. No takeout order should ever take that long. Not to mention they gave me the wrong rice and my food was extremely bland. There was nothing I could do to make it better. Will not be going back.
God I love this place, my family and I have been going there for well over 25 years. The food is always delicious, and we love the people who own the place and who work there. I miss eating in but so glad they are doing take out, the food is just as good. I went to school in the North and would cry because the food wasn’t as good as Shanghai’s. If you knew Lily and her family they just made the whole experience so warm and inviting. Loved the family and the food. I think great food is always backed with great people.
