We ordered a variety of items for our family and we liked most of it. By far my favorite item was the roasted corn. It doesn’t photograph well but my goodness it is absolutely delicious. My daughter and I agreed that we would go back just for the corn. My sons said the burgers were very good and they would order it again. The huge pork barbecue sandwich is moist and has a mildly smoky sweet flavor. It isn’t spicy so you will need to add hot sauce if that is what you like. The okra was too salty. The collard greens had way too much vinegar. Cornbread was good. We will definitely order again.

We got takeout from Joe’s for the first time tonight and it was amazing! I had the pulled BBQ with baked beans and cole slaw and it was absolutely the best I have had in North Carolina. My husband had a cheeseburger and hot dog. I took a bite of each and both were delicious. The folks who work there were very nice and welcoming as well. I called to let them know how impressed we were and they were delighted with the feedback. It’s evident that these people enjoy what they do and truly care about the quality of the food they are serving. We will definitely be regulars here!

Food far exceeded my expectations! The wedges were crisp and flavorful. I had street corn for the first time and I have to say it was delicious. I highly recommend this hidden gem.

Very disappointed after reading other reviews. My husband’s hamburger tasted pretty good but was a very thin patty. Corn was tough. BBQ was okay. I got baked beans which were pretty good and a large serving. I ordered a piece of cornbread. It was less than a 2” square and they charged 2.25 for it. Overall very disappointed. A friend recently got a bbq sandwich to take home. When he went to eat it, it had 2 large bones in it. He went all the way back to return it. They apologized but didn’t even offer to replace it or give his money back.

I’m not sure what happened today based on the other reviews. It was terrible. A friend ordered for both of us over the phone and the girl said it was her first day so she wasn’t sure how to enter the order. It was 2 individual orders of a single burger (not a combo) and 2 individual side items, and a vegetable plate.nThe girl insisted that it had to be rung up as combos because she didn’t know the right key to punch on the register otherwise. Then she kept asking for the drink selection which we didn’t want.nWhen my friend picked up the order she again asked what drink. Now for the food. Very disappointed ud83dude22.nCarolina burger (my favorite) was mostly bun, dry burger, hardly any chili or slaw. Sweet potato fries were limp and tasted like frozen.nMy friend’s specialty vegetable plate had dry macaroni and cheese, pork & beans (her description) with onions and potato wedges that seemed also frozen. She also got the special roasted corn and it was very small, not very roasted and the butter was not even melted.nAlso as a takeout place there weren’t any napkins or utensils provided..nBig disappointment after all the good reviews! I fully support local businesses but I have to give my honest review.
