Hope High School

My kids went there. They loved it. The staff is great. It's small with more one-on-one attention that the large high schools on O'Fallon can't provide. It's a great place to be for kids that are regressing due to bullies or shyness. It's an alternative high school, for kids that just aren't cutting it in the big school. My daughter hated school until Hope High. My son was very smart, but also very shy and worked very hard to avoid going to school until Hope High. I wish I had a place like Hope High to go to when I was a teenager.

Hope High has been amazing for our family. I have 2 daughters who are polar opposite but both needed a smaller environment to thrive for different reasons. My oldest graduated a couple years ago and still has ties with staff in a positive way. They still help her out whenever needed. They bent over backwards to make sure she got through school and they didn't have too. Shout out to Mr. Bishop, who is the best, most dedicated principle at Hope High, and by the time he came around was desperately needed. He has worked wonders along with his angels/ staff. Special staff that really took an active role outside of what they were required which were both my girls fav Mr Rubin, but there are several more. My 2nd daughter is currently in Hope and thriving. She has tiny classes vs coming from classes of 32 where there wernt enough desks so you sat against the wall. Nice that our tax dollars can't afford a desk per student in the large schools.nThe biggest thing I wanted to say was I want to dispel this myth about Hope High. It is not like an alternative school in Saint Louis county. It is not where all the bad kids are sent. Every single child there wants to be there. They must write an essay and meet with staff and be accepted into the school. There is 0 tolerance for disciplinary record. If you do not obey the rules of Hope you are then sent back to your home school. There is always a waiting list to get into the special little gem!
