Great Mexican food. Queso was amazing. And the margaritas although smaller were awesome. So I got pitcher instead so I could have more
Plenty of parking..accessible, outdoor dining with heaters, well lit, beautifully decorated inside, servers were fast and friendly, the prices reasonable with plenty of vegetarian choices! Chips, salsa and margaritas were very good, but my burrito entree was a little disappointing. The steak was kind of dry.. that's okay...I just poured salsa over it and Yum!
The food was surprising good. From the cook to the taste, my wife had the burrito that was glazed with cheese ans I had a hamburger very well cook. The crunchiness of the bacon ans the fries were perfect. Very good for travelera and families after activities in the parks around. Plenty tables and a bar with enough TVs to expende the time watching sports and drinking your beer.
I love this place. Good food, great service, cold beverages! Perfect atmosphere.
Based on prior reviews, I was hoping for a great experience and great Mexican food. Instead, it was pretty bad..both with the food and service. When my family of four arrived over Labor Day weekend for dinner, we were the third table with customers. The rest of the tables were empty. After a few minutes of waiting with no menus, my husband took two menus off a nearby table. We waited for a total of about 10 minutes before the waitress came by. We put in drink orders (including two margaritas) and an appetizer order for chips and three dips (beans, queso and guacamole).nnWhen the appetizer came, the chips were hot and tasted very fresh. The dips weren't great. The queso had a burnt taste, the guacamole was more tomatoes and onions than avocado and the beans were room temperature and not hot.nnOur meals were delivered by a different person than our waitress. My son ordered a quesadilla, my husband and daughter split a burrito and I had the shrimp tacos. After the appetizer was delivered by the waitress, we didn't see her at our table again until we requested her to come by to ask about the margaritas which we hadn't received yet. She indicated that since she was 19, she couldn't deliver alcoholic drinks to customers and that the bartender had to bring it to us. She indicated that she would check on the drinks for us. I found it interesting since my 18-yo daughter works at a restaurant, also in Missouri, and CAN deliver alcoholic drinks to customers. Maybe it's the restaurant's policy?nnThe quesadillas and burrito were fine. The shrimp tacos were very underwhelming. All three tacos were cold to the touch like they had just pulled the flour tortillas out of the fridge 10 minutes before...not heated at all. The shrimp was room temperature and one of the three tacos had only two small pieces of shrimp inside. The tacos also came with a side of beans and rice. The rice was an extremely small portion, maybe a 1/2 cup (small for a Mexican restaurant) and was also room temperature. The beans were cold like they just came out of the fridge....maybe they were supposed to be that way but I usually don't get cold beans with my Mexican meals. The waitress never came by to clear the appetizer dishes, never asked if we wanted more chips or to even ask us about our meal.nnMeanwhile, the margaritas never came. At this point, more tables were filled and none of the tables had ANY alcoholic drinks (which seems like a big miss for a restaurant). While we were there, a table of six came in and sat near us. The restaurant staff was extremely attentive and brought out chips and salsa right away while we had to wait longer when it was much less crowded. The waitress was also more attentive to the larger table. I assume it was because they had more people and would possibly generate a bigger tip.nnI had high hopes for the entire experience only for it to fall far short of my expectations. Maybe they were short staffed for a long weekend, but I will probably go elsewhere next time.
