My son and I stayed here for 5 days. He was having surgery downtown and this was an affordable extended stay place that was only 20 minutes from downtown.nWhen we checked in, the clerk was helpful enough and directed us to our room. My son and I were supposed to get a room that had a queen sized bed and a sofa sleeper. In reality, we got a full sized bed and basically a cot stuffed into a chair. The cot came with zero bedding so my son purchased sheets and a blanket. The room itself was rather small and cramped but at least it was clean.nEverything was fine until the weekend. Friday night, it sounded like there was a party in the room directly above us. We could hear their conversations and their laughter. Kids were running up and down the hallway, yelling and stomping around at almost 10PM! Saturday night wasn't any better. This time, it sounded like several parties were taking place. We could hear people talking and laughing next door. We could hear bottles clanking around and loud music playing. We could also hear people talking and hanging out in the lobby. And again, this was happening after 10PM. After the weekend, things settled down and quiet returned.nAlso, since the rooms have kitchens and the walls are thin, you could smell different foods being cooked and it wasn't pleasant! The different odors combined together made walking into the hallway a nauseating experience.nReally, the only positives I can give are that it was clean, affordable and the employees were, in general, friendly.nIf you value comfort and you want peace and quiet...especially when you're trying to sleep...you're not going to find it here. Its NOT a terrible place, but I think there are much nicer, and quieter, places to stay.
It was a good place until my final day. I had actually stayed there a couple of nights already when on the day I was due to check out I had asked if I could get the room again but the only problem was that checkout is at 11am and my paycheck wouldn't hit my debit card until 12:30 pm. Now, the same hotel chain as them that I stayed at before (just a different location) would give me until 1pm to pay for another night but this location wanted me to check out and go sit down in the lobby with my cat and all of my belongings and wait until 12:30 and then check in again and do it all over again. So I decided that if I had to pack everything up then I might as well go stay somewhere else. If they couldn't accommodate me for an hour and a half then I wasn't going to accommodate them with my money. I knew then that I belonged at the other location where they clearly are more hospitable than this location so I was happy to go back to the other location....
The staff was very friendly, but the room could use a deep cleaning to say the least.nnThe gentleman who checked us in was very pleasant and had a sense of humor. We arrived at 11:30 at night, 30 minutes before our check-in time expired. Even though the man was ready to go home, I’m sure, he was talkative and made my entire group laugh. Close to midnight, I came down for a pillow and he game me a brand new one with a great attitude about it. Great customer service!nnI wish I could say the same for the room. It smelled like cat urine and the sink and garbage disposal especially stunk. The countertops and appliances were dated, but functional, and the bathroom was forgettable. We turned the air conditioner as cold as it could go and the fan as high as it could go and we were worm the whole night.nnNext time, I’ll just pay the extra $20 and stay somewhere else.
I almost never leave reviews for things, and even less so if my experience was negative, but this was the absolute worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Most of the hotel staff were very friendly and nice. Unfortunately, this was the only good part. They claim to provide dishes and were only able to give me two plates and two bowls and one skillet. The room itself was definitely not gone through because as I went to put my food away I found tons of leftover items from whoever had stayed before me, including a bag of cinnamon, which I’m allergic to. I didn’t find out until after a week of staying there from housekeeping that if I were to use the dishwasher that it would flood my hotel room. Half of the drawers are stuck shut. The shower wasn’t draining properly and I had to tell them three different times and it took them two weeks to actually fix. My lights have been alternating between flickering and not working at all- and same with the microwave. The people in the room next to me have been hitting the wall so hard my bed literally shakes and when I finally mentioned it after enduring the sound of bowling balls being thrown for over a week, staff actually responded by saying, “Well, she’s usually quiet” and nothing was done. The fire alarm actually emitted it’s OWN SMOKE and set itself off. And now, it’s 4am and it’s chirping every thirty seconds to alert me of a low battery but when I went down to the front desk the guy said only maintenance could fix it but didn’t have a clue as to when they would be arriving. My advice is, if you have a better option in terms of places to stay, please consider that one first and save yourself the exhaustion.
If I could give this hotel location a negative one hundred, I would! The staff at this location are undertrained and management has not put in the corrected training procedures when working with customers. My stay started with a room with a stain on the floor, the floor was not vacuumed, and broken garbage disposal. Then the front-desk associate lied about my dog running towards a maintenance man. When I did not open the door because the individual was not in uniform and honestly the person could have been someone off the street. When discussing my dog and the situation with the front desk associate. I requested to leave because after hearing his conversation with the General Manager Brenda S., I knew this was not the right hotel for me. The associate explained after getting my things out of the room, he would check the room. Then provide a refund for the charge. All of this was happening after 9 pm and after hurrying to find another hotel to stay. When returning to the front desk, the associate explained I would need to wait on Emily to check the room, to receive the refund. I asked who Emily is and why do I need to wait on her. I became very frustrated and requested for him to do his job. So, I could leave in peace. While explaining my displacement to the woman without a mask approached me. I told her to get away from me, as I did not know who she was, and her presence was going to make the situation worst. Then another man who was dressed as a woman, tugging at his underwear. Got in my face as well! Their actions were threatening as I had two strangers in my face without a mask in this era of COVID. Then they call the police on me for supposedly having an attitude with them. I return the gesture and call the police on them for fraud. When the police arrived, they explained this a civil issue and work with both of us. I then reported the incident to Guest Relations, who told me the GM close the case explaining I had an attitude, but her employees were in my face speaking aggressively towards me. My statement to Brenda S., you are a toxic leader. For you to believe this behavior is okay, shows being a General Manager at Extended Stay America is not the proper position for you. I will make sure you and your employees' actions are corrected.
