They do a great job. Not an easy job. Sorry they are under such scrutiny right now and hope and pray that the result does not put them in harm's way. Any experience I have had with them has been good and professional.

First of all I’d like to say that many of the negative reviews here seem fake and/or fraudulent. It’s clear from both the subject matter and their glaring pseudonyms (i.e. fake names!) they have a hidden political agenda. That said, the Salem NH Police Department and the officers there, are of the highest integrity. I have known many of them for almost 30 years. Not a short time period by any means! Bobby and Basil are two of the most honest men I have ever met. I know their families, including their brothers and fathers, who are equally honest and of the highest integrity. As a lawyer, I have known and worked with many officers in my career and I can say the officers in Salem NH are among the best throughout both New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

I have been going to Salem for years and I have been working in salem for the past year and a half. Every experience I have had with the Salem Police Department is negative. I cannot recall interacting with an officer that seemed to care about helping people. I have seen officers violate traffic laws to many times to count. I’ve seen them turn on their lights to run a red light just to turn them off again after the intersection. I’ve seen them make illegal u-turns without lights or a siren on and I’ve seen them driving well above the speed limit without lights or siren on.nnRecently I called to complain about an officer excessively speeding without his emergency lights or siren on and the woman that worked at the station on the other end of the phone was very rude, and she made it clear that she did not care about anything I was saying.nnI am in no way writing a bad review because i don’t like cops. I do like cops. I understand that police officers have a dangerous and stressful job, i respect that. I think that no city, state, or country could function without them. There is something wrong with this towns police force. They do not set an acceptable example and they hold themselves higher than civilians.
