Most of the staff are awesome while others could use an attitude adjustment. You get called back fairly fast but you're there waiting in the room forever. I've never been to any doctor's office where I was there for half the working day...until I came here that is!

I love how friendly and accurate the staff here are, not only are they thorough but they really care and do a great job .

I have been going to the Louisiana Family Medical Clinic in Bossier City for several years. They have an excellent Nurse Practitioner who is my go to. Recently, I happened to have the opportunity to be seen by a Physicians Assistant by the name of Adam Lawson who was a “floater” in the Bossier location due to staffing issues.nnBefore I get into my issues with the experience, I'd like to give some background on myself. I have a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration. I’m also in my second year of doctoral study with Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where I am pursuing a DrPH (Dr. of Public Health). I feel it’s necessary to share this, because I have extensive knowledge in the healthcare field, which is why I have such a problem with how this medical professional conducted himself.nnLouisiana Family Medicine Clinic caters largely to those bellow the poverty line and other defense/at risk communities. In these types of locations, it is common to see that the staff, administration all the way up to medical practitioners, becomes very numb and desensitized to these types of patients and can often, unknowingly, slip into a habit of treating them poorly. Sadly, this is even more common in healthcare facilities that cater to patients on Medicaid and the like. I have seen this very often not only in my studies/research, but also in person, much like with Mr. Lawson.nnWhen I saw Mr. Lawson in the Bossier location, I was instantly made aware of his lack of “bed side manner” and complete disregard for building any type of rapport with the patient. He had next to no sense of professionalism, and questioned not only my intentions, but also the choices my trusted, long term provider has made. All of this on a whim, within seconds of walking into the room. I had three areas of concern upon coming in. One was slightly addressed (very much run of the mill, go to, no effort type of remedy), the second was chuckled at then disregarded, and the third wasn’t even given an opportunity to be mentioned. This all occurred within the course of about 3 minutes, after which he returned to the nurses station to continue talking and laughing. Upon bringing this up with a nurse, I was informed that several other people have commented on his lack of tact and professionalism.nnAs a trained medical professional, it saddens me to see young, newly licensed practitioners who have no understanding of how to properly deal with a patient. Had he known my background, I am certain the experience would have been different altogether; however, I was quickly lumped in and subjugated to the treatment he most likely gives his “typical” patient. The worst part is, the common patient in these facilities often doesn’t understand that this type of negligent care isn’t the norm nor is it acceptable. People like Mr. Lawson along with the current status and lack of care for at risks populations, are two of the main reasons I chose this field. While I’m not optimistic, I can only hope that my words are seen by someone at Mr. Lawsons practice who can at very least communicate with him and make suggestions. I also hope my review may be seen by someone who perhaps has also been treated the same way and now understands we all deserve equal, unbiased, professional care - No matter our social status or form of insurance/payment.

It takes too long to see the doctor, you get called back rather fast, but then you set in the room forever for the doctor to see you. Also they aren't very good about checking you over after you tell them what's bothering you.

Staff is great I love toys they give children around Christmas but I cannot figure out for the life of me why we never stayed there under 3 hours in the few years we been patients there
