The people at Wheelers funeral home are the kindest and most caring individuals that I have dealt with in this situation. Rhena was amazing, she helped me and my family with more than one service. I highly recommend this funeral home. I am planning mine and my husband's services with them as well.
My Dad passed two weeks ago and the staff was wonderful and compassionate. My Mom passed last week and she had prepaid for her services at a funeral home in Conyers (the biggest one). Having done this two weeks earlier we quickly realized the inflated pricing and the poor level of service we were given at the other home. I'm now sorry I didn't do this sooner since Wheeler's was head and shoulders about the other place. We ultimately paid $2000 more for less services and a much less personal and compassionate experience. We will use Wheeler's from now on without a doubt!
I want to thank Steve for helping us after hours (late on a Monday evening) and taking care of the very unexpected and painful loss of our dog Bruce while we were on vacation. Steve and Melanie are both so kind and compassionate. They treated us with respect and patience, communicated with us every step of the way (even after business hours), and helped us through a difficult time. Thank you so much.
Sadly, and so unexpectedly, it's time to make the call again. Over the weekend I lost another member of my animal family. Having to accept death, none of us can argue with it, is hard enough. But with the caring staff at Wheeler's, I know I can hand over the remains of those I've loved and feel with 100% certainty that they will be honored as they so rightly deserve. I can recommend them without an ounce of reservation.
The staff at Wheeler are the most compassionate people I've ever met. They handle the cremation of pets and working dogs in addition to people. Many police K9 officers who have died have been handled at Wheeler's. This was the second time I brought a large (125+ pound) dog to them for cremation. He was a working livestock guardian dog. They treated him with the respect they would do for a human client. They understand the valuable bond between dog and owner. Their provided me with a cost list that I could chose from. Very transparent. Very reasonable price. But, for me, the most important was that they treated my dog in death the way I loved him in life.
