Well... Sounds like Ms. Yasko needs a hug. First of all you should do your research before making such ignorant claims. The Deputy Clerk position is not an elected position, therefore they are not paid with tax payer funds. In fact the Clerk's office generates much of the income from within and the remainder is supplemented by State monies in which you do not pay into since Florida does not have an income tax.As far as your Passport, these few that work in this office are highly skilled and highly trained. They must pass rigorous testing to be certified what they do and then they must be re-certified every year. They are subject to the demands and requirements of the U.S. Dept. of State and Homeland Security. The requirements for Birth Certificates for a Passport has changed dramatically in recent years. A marriage license or Drivers license is not similar or close to what a Passport is. When a customer calls for information the clerk does not have crystal balls and can only give information based on what they are told which is often wrong which is apparently what happened here. These clerks are incredibly skilled, incredibly kind and personable! My experience at the Courthouse has been nothing but amazing.

The passport office really needs stop giving people the wrong information. On Friday, I was told the birth certificate I used my entire life, for passports, marriage license etc wasn't good enough. I was told to bring in my old passport, money order and marriage certificate and I would be good to go (the same documents that I used my birth certificate to get but whatever). Brought in exactly what he told me too and then I was told by another woman who poorly trained him that I had to mail it in. I can't tell you how much poor customer service poorly trained and misinformed employee's frustrate me, especially when its my money being used to pay their salary. Since I'm going on a cruise and was only getting my passport in case of an emergency, I walked away from the counter and said forget it. I'm hoping in the future my tax money goes to people who are actually qualified to do their job correctly. I'm a manager of a company, they would have been fired.

terrible terrible terrible. They are the worse of the clerks i ever dealt with. I hope they all get fired and somebody professional is brought in to run the department.
