Interesting historical stop, but it's very small. Takes about 20 minutes to go through and displays information on Overton Mountain men. The grounds is just a small patch of land but with a nice trail to picnic tables.

The folks here were so welcoming and willing to talk to us! They gave us a lot of details about the history of the area and pointed out things we should pay closest attention to as we wandered around. Would be great to be there when they have their educational areas setup, which we only missed by a few days.

While we were there for the Civil War reenactment as part of the highlands festival in the area, the Muster grounds hold a long history stretching back to the revolutionary period. The museum on site provides a lot of information of not only the history of the grounds, but the conditions that people faced back then. It is well worth the visit, especially if you enjoy history.
