Parked here in hopes of a trail after the Massanutten Storybook Trail and SNP were closed to due snow/rain. The trail you want to hike is at the far right of the parking lot - look for the orange blazes. The trail was a bit muddy at points and we had to hop from rocks or navigate around (as needed) but it was still a very pleasant hike. Also had a few stream crossings. I wouldn't hike trail alone (we found it was easier to cross streams with a few people) but it was very enjoyable. There was some signage that said there was the New Market Picnic Area a mile away, but we never found it (after hiking for about 45-55 minutes one way) so we just turned around when we felt ready.

Please be advised that at least two cars had sections of our exhaust (resonator) cut and stolen while parked in this lot for an overnight hike on the weekend of 27Feb2021.

Parking area on 211 to access NF trails. Lots of trash and dumping.
