An amazing way to take in a National Park is to drive the 105 miles known as Skyline Drive in the park. Also, the trails are for everyone with easy trails that are great for beginners, kids, and people just wanting 1-1.5 miles or less. For those who live for the “AT”, you can connect to several trails that run through the park. Most of the park’s support facilities are open in March with the rest opening in April. Enjoy!

We struggled a little bit following directions to the Front Royal entrance, but we finally got it. We started our hike around 7am. It was absolutely gorgeous and the weather was perfect. I highly suggest hitting the trails before or around 7am, as it gets very crowded around 9am (we went in September, so that probably also plays a factor).

Had a wonderful experience during this fall. The entire skyline had gifted us more than imagined. We stopped at the overlook points to catch the glimpses of the entire valley from various angles. Apart from that the drive was very scenic with the trees hugging and intersecting each other above the ground was gorgeous to see. One can’t think more than stopping at such spots and click several pictures .

Visited my first National Park at Skyline Drive and it was absolutely breath taking. If I lived closer I would totally purchase a pass to be able to visit more frequently. I can’t wait to go back!
