We took a day off in the middle of the week for a little R&R and decided to have lunch at Field & Main. It's been on our list for years but this was our first time to the restaurant. We reserved an outdoor cabana and were blown away by how nice they were. They can be enclosed with AC or heat, but we had perfect weather and the doors were left open to the refreshing breeze.nnThe food did not let us down. We split a large house salad, which was refreshing on a warm day. We ordered the seafood curry and confit chicken, both of which had luscious, complex flavors. We got a side of Pullman toast, which I used to soak up the last of the curry. Our plates were clean by the end.nnI think we were most surprised by the quality of the drinks. Our server provided top notch recommendations. Pro-tip: you can get the mint lemonade spiked.nnIt was a perfect getaway. This was only the second time we've eaten at a restaurant (both outdoors) since the Before Times, and we felt completely safe. We look forward to coming back again, hopefully for dinner so that we can try the tasting menu.
My wife and I have dined here twice. The first time was for New Years and we instantly knew we found a new local favorite and would be back. We made a reservation for our Valentines Day dinner and this night just exceeded our expectations. We were seated at a table that was close to the door and my wife was cold so they moved us to a table seated inward towards the kitchen. That accommodation alone, and the fact that they were so kind about it, started our night off great. A manager came to us while we were waiting for our dinner and asked if our new location was warmer for my wife. She answered honestly, saying it was much better - but she is naturally always cold as it is, and thanked them for accommodating her. About 5 minutes later the owner of the restaurant approached our table with a gift for my wife. It was a beautiful tan soft shawl wrapped up with twine. He said it was a gift from them to help keep her warm.nnI had to come home and write this review, as we are still so shocked at the kindness and amazing customer service we received tonight. The icing on the cake was the wonderful meal we had. Dinner was just incredible. The food was so flavorful, our server was so kind. This place really goes above and beyond and I'm so glad we live so close by and can eat here frequently.
Went there for lunch. Very friendly staff, neat atmosphere. Lunch menu was pretty limited. Very cool outdoor cabanas but as we found out, have to have a reservation to sit in one outside. Lunch steak and cheese was fantastic. Good/fun local beers on tap. Potatoes were a little bland and a bit over fried but still a twist from standard fries.
Loved this spot! Was a surprise trip for my birthday and we had a wonderful VIP experience in a private hut with ac and heat. Food was amazing, cocktails even better but service over the top. So affordable given the quality and experience. If you haven't been here, plan a trip and make it happen! This was a Pinterest dream and will drive your friends wild with envy.
Field and Main is a quick trip down 66 that is always worth the visit. The addition of the cabanas for covid times is a welcomed addition for those of us looking to experience fine dining in a private atmosphere. The menu is definitely limited but understandably so. We've only been back for lunch but their burger is the clear standout. Just be sure to order 2 patties. Worth every gluttonous moment.
