Very nice place to take your friends & family that you can spend hours doing a lot of different things that doesn't cost a arm & a leg. Lots of trails to hike or ride bike's or just sit & relax & watch nature at it's best. Very highly recommend ! The Rangers are very nice & helpful also.
Beautiful area to relax, unwind and take in the beauty of Chincoteague. The birds and other wildlife were still a few weeks out , but we enjoyed the short walk anyway!
One of my favorite places to ride bikes. Very nice trails and great for viewing wildlife. The whole area of Chincoteague is easily accessible by bike!
I was so excited to visit this lovely coastal parknIt is located just off the coast of Chincoteague Island. We had to pay $10 to enter with a day passnBut it was worth it.nMore do if the weather had been above 25 degrees plus blowing cold windsnnFirst we stopped at the Lighthouse trail to hike to see the beautiful Assateague LighthousenThen we drove through the wetlands and marsh, Tony keeping his eyes open for any wild horsesnnWe stopped next at Tom's Cove then drove out to Beach parking where we saw tons of groups of seagulls and migrating large White ducks that were everywhere.....excitingnIn the marsh, we saw Herons, Cranes and Mallard DucksnVery nice daynDefinitely will go againnThe beaches were Natural and undisturbed No houses, no hotels, littered with tons of seashells.nI was able to get myself a nice bunch of shells to take home with me
I would recommend you come and visit in the fall/winter cuz once the weather gets nice the mosquitoes come out to play. They are vicious and they can actually bite you through your clothing. This place is so pretty and has alot of trails you can do. Kid/family friendly.
