Satisfying selection. Knowledgable staff. And I love the kids sections and programs.

I'm rural and so I must pay for card. This has made library 2 go useless as the long hold disappear every time I have to pay again. Audible cost more but I get to read the books I'm interested on.

Rude employees every time... Small collection

Wonderful children's programming, and a great, up-to-date selection of kids' books from picture books through YA, including lots of children's graphic novels. Solid adult genre fiction sections, too. The adult nonfiction section has aged—probably in large part because nonfiction circulation has dropped off with the expansion of the internet—but there are still lots of browsable treasures. All children from the surrounding rural areas can get a free library card, too. A really excellent library for a town of Astoria's size.

Pretty much a homeless shelter. Limited resources as well. Very little public space/tables. The ones they have are always occupied by the same homeless people everyday. They’ve also deemed the entire second floor as “teen” section and will kick you out if you try to use a table there. Astoria property tax payers are definitely getting a raw deal here.
