Fort Stevens State Park

What a great adventure! The first 9 holes are set, the back 9 still being developed. Bravo to the folks responsible for putting this place together! My 17-year old loved it! No one following us so he 'emptied his bag' on the long 16th! Fun, fun - even for those starting to play. Course was very forgiving, even with those occasional head winds! We'll definitely be back to try another round!

This is a fun little area. I didn't have time to explore all of it, but it seems to have lots of different things to see. It's great for small kids because there is plenty of room to run and play without getting into trouble. I was fascinated to learn some of the history of the fort and see some older military things. I would definitely go to Ft. Stevens again.

Low tide is the time to come!

Haven't been to Fort Stevens proper yet, but the RV campground is great. Its our first visit, and we're on loop L. Our site has one 30A and two 15/20A outlets, potable water faucet, sewer hookup, a 10' picnic table and a fire ring. Backed by forest and less than a mile to the beach. Bike/hike paths to beach. About 3-6 miles to various Columbia River access points, including a beach open to vehicles.

My 4 kids, ages 12 - 3, all had a good time looking through all the old buildings and checking out the old cannons and guns! We also really enjoyed the hikes and getting to see the ocean from the jetty rocks. A good place for family fun.
