Columbia River Maritime Museum

This unexpected gem in Astoria is a great way to spend a few hours on a weekend trip!nnI'm not much of a sailor, but I enjoyed learning what I could from the museum. They had sections devoted to the Coast Guard, too old shipwrecks in the region, and a whole section devoted to World War 2 that might be easy to miss.nnYou can also watch a short (15 minute) movie in 3D. Despite it being a tiny makeshift theater, they've got a great screen and solid RealD 3D films about sea turtles or aircraft carriers.nnGive yourself 3 hours to get full enjoyment out of the museum.

Admission fee too high. What you can see, It's just just not worth that money

Coolest small museum I've been too. It's jam packed with cool exhibits, history, and interactive stops. I really recommend going.

First time we have had the chance to visit the museum. It's beautiful. So glad that they were able to be open.

Always fun to visit the museum and see the history of the area. Disappointed that the Navy ship was closed due to Covid, but still fun to check it out from the top deck. The optional 3D move was definitely worth the time and extra money....
