Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest Visitor Center

Great place!! Watch the road going up it is very windy. Make sure your car is in great working order. It has a season so make sure you check their website before heading up or you will face a locked gate. Check the weather. Have on proper clothing, be prepared! We just went (11-1-18) and the visitor center was closed for the season.nWe hiked the Cabin Trail. A few miners cabins along the way. Be respectful of the past history and do not take stuff or carve your name in the logs.

Beautiful place with amazing history. The drive to the visitor center was also very scenic with the views of Sierra mountains. While the visitor center was closed for the season, there were quite a few people in the parking lot. We completed an easy walk on the Discovery trail, but if you have more time you could attempt longer (>4mi) trails.

You can feel the history at this place. The energy here is amazing. These are some of the oldest trees on the planet.

The drive up the mountain us an adventure in itself. We visited during off peak time so there was very little people there. The history and the views are breathtaking.

Amazing views. Above it all. Fascinating to learn about Bristlecone Pines. A facilities closed on 3/4/2021, but open otherwise. No bathrooms.
