I just rode here on 4/6! Great experience. My boyfriend's first time riding, my first time in a long time/first time riding through foothills . Nancy was super friendly and gave helpful info and directions via phone beforehand. Both Z and Dustin were very friendly, accommodating, and patient. They gave a great tour and knew a lot about the area and surrounding nature. I can't recommend this spot enough. Priced very fairly for a beautiful experience, and we were lucky to have good weather! The dogs were a plus! (They're protective when you first drive up, but don't be alarmed.... they will soon be at your legs begging for a head rub:] )nnNancy tipped us off on this beforehand, and I'm glad she did: make sure you bring layers in case it's windy.

What an AWESOME day! We went for a 5 hour horseback trail ride through the Carson National Forest, and it was EVERYTHING I was hoping it would be!nnWe rode all the way to the top of an 8,000+ height mountain which took about two hours, stopped at the top to walk around and give our horses a well deserved rest (the trail was NOT for the novice) then headed back down for another two hours.nnThe views are absolutely breathtaking and the pictures I got can only barely capture the reality of what we got to experience. Our ride was the first on the trail that we took, since last spring... so the environment as even more untouched than normal. We had a great time with good people and I can't express enough how amazing it was.nnIf you are ever in New Mexico, I STRONGLY suggest booking a trail ride with Nancy Burch at Roadrunner Tours, in Angel Fire! You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Took my family horse back riding for the first time (I haven't been in about 35 years, so kinda my first time, too) to Nancy's ranch - very easy to book (I recommend calling and not dealing with the online set up as it doesn't seem accurate. Come the 30 minutes before hand for paper work, etc. The cowboys/girls are awesome - all want you to feel comfortable and have fun and enjoy the time there. The animals are beautiful, amazingly calm and easy to lead, and well groomed and kept. Leland was our cowboy guide and he was super funny and personable. Z was our lead and helped with my 9 year old on his horse and was amazing. I have to say - it may seem that having no issues is the sign of a good business, but I disagree - the true sign of a good business is well-trained employees who know how to deal with any issue or problem that may arise, because they can and do arise due to no one's fault at all. That being said, unfortunately we've ruined Leland's run of having no one fall off their horse on his watch. However - it was no one's fault - not even poor Blue who slipped while going downhill on a little icy patch. Just doing her job her feet went out and, since it was on a hill my 19 year old just popped off the saddle and was totally fine. Leland zipped over to him, had poor Blue calming and controlled before I could even turn around and see who popped off. Leland was so apologetic and asked a hundred times if Jonah was ok - he was just fine and we checked and Blue seemed fine as well. I'm sure for those large animals that would be so scary. Jonah hopped back on and we were on our way back to the stables. It was a glorious day with great people. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to have a fun time in the beautiful area around Angel Fire.

This is my second time coming to roadrunner for horseback riding and we had the best time! The trail was beautiful, the horses are so sweet and so well behaved. Our 3 year old and 6 year old had a blast! Our guide Leland got tons of pictures for us to have as memories forever and we are so thankful for that! We couldn’t have had a better experience to end our trip in Angel fire! Highly recommend making this apart of your trip!

Bill was our guide and we had such an awesome time. He had us laughing all morning. The animals were well trained and had good personalities. The views were incredible. Great service and Ranch. I’ll come back every time my family is here for snowboarding. Can’t wait to do it again when the snow melts.
