Dr. Sarmistha Kumar, DO

Dr. Kumar was fantastic. She was very personable, explained things very well and spent a LOT of time with me. She did not seem rushed at all like most doctors do. The MA and her were great, and I would highly recommend! She is professional, knowledgable and friendly and frankly, I am surprised by the negative review(s).

I have had 5 EMG tests over 35 years and this one was by far the worst of all of them! If this had been my only test I would never be convinced to do another even if it meant losing the use of my wrist. Dr. Kumar was rude, uncaring and unprofessional! She moved the needle around and shocked me more than ALL other tests combined. She was completely unconcerned about the pain she was causing or the stress exhibited by her patient over getting shocked repeatedly when already experiencing stressed from the face mask! Her nurse cared more than she did and was unconcerned about the face mask as long as he wore his. I would not recommend this doctor at all!

Waste of time and wanted to give me medication. I HAVE HAD 2 PLATES IN MY STERNUM, Unsuccessful. I will never returnnGo back.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a specialist. Dr. Kumar was arrogant, caddy and unprofessional. My records clearly showed my long history of documentation’s diagnosis that were proved by tests and other methods. Dr. Kumar ignored all the evidence and spent the majority of our time telling me I didn’t have any of the diagnosis that I had had for 30+ years. Her inability to even do a proper assessment was pathetic. Her goal was to be dismissive and rude under the mask of “just doing her job”. Rude, arrogant can’t be hidden. She had my records that proved everything but she refused to acknowledge them. Even my own written statements as to my experiences dealing with this disability were fraudulently worded by her to minimize my experience. She clearly already had some sorta of a prejudged notion of who I was and what U wanted. This women has NO BUSINESS TREATING ANYONE if she can’t treat free of prejudice and with empathy for the patients going to her for help. CLEARLY SHE CAN NOT DO THAT. I hope Scripps reaches out to other patients to see what their experiences has been. My bet is that there are MANY more who feel similar. It is really sad to see on the web the number of patients that have similar stories. SHAME ON DR. KUMAR and SHAME ON SCRIPPS FOR ALLOWING SOMEONE TO TREAT UNDER THE SCRIPPS NAME!!!! Scripps is better than this even if Dr. Kumar is not.

Dr Kumar is an excellent pain Dr. I have had many pain Drs in my life, due to several back surgeries and she truly is by far the best Dr I have ever had. She is so attentive, concerned and has such a calm, pleasant and comforting disposition.nShe is extremely compassionate, conscientious and a stickler, as well.nHer experience and intelligence in her field has made my life much more bearable. She suggests different types of therapies to help me navigate through my life of pain.nI feel very fortunate and blessed that I have Dr Kumar as my Pain Dr.nI recommend her to all my friends and family, she is the best!
