I will never book a vacation with Amtrak again. I was able to get a refund for all portions of my trip, EXCEPT with Amtrak/Yankee.

My first train ride with my husband for our anniversary and I must say it was the worst customer service with Amtrak Vacations I’ve ever experienced in my lifetime. Over 11 hour late, lost an entire day of vacation, no way to get to my hotel because of my late arrival time everything was closed, to top it off I get to the hotel that was on my itinerary The Holiday Express to find out I didn’t have a reservation and they were booked. Due to Amtrak mistake I later on found out after sleeping in a hotel lobby that I didn’t have reservations for waiting on Amtrak vacations to opening because no one was able to help me as I call all morning for answers was and send out emails! Spoke with a manager Jessica DeMala, no help and still no refund! Emailed Zshamal Holguin associate director of guest relations operations he stated “He was out of the office” I asked to forward my email to someone that was in the office, then he replied back that he will look into a way to help but everyone that’s reading this already knows, NO HELP there!!!! I’ve asked for corporate office names and numbers as I sit here hour after hour and day by day with NO HELP and NO REFUND but maybe my lawyer can finish from here!!! I WILL NOT recommend them for any vacations because they are not to good with putting the right hotel with the right address, admitting to wrong doing and making a vacation stress-free for their customers!!!! Shame on Amtrak, Shame on Amtrak NO STARS

Yankee Leisure Group is keeping all the money my wife and I paid for an Amtrak Vacation Grand Canyon Extended Getaway for the period 10-16 April 2020 even though the Grand Canyon is closed and the trip is no longer possible.nnThey now declare that we must cancel this unavailable service. This is absolutely illogical; why must we cancel a service they cannot provide? If they are not able to provide the service we paid for, they owe us a refund.nnWe plan to reschedule this trip for April 2021and would certainly leave our deposit with Yankee Leisure Group. Their position, however, is that we must leave all of our money with them for a future travel voucher. So, they keep thousands of dollars of our money until we travel next year and pay us no interest on this money. Good deal for Yankee Leisure Group but a lousy deal for us.nnI cannot recommend this company for any travel service and rate them a one star.

I booked an AMTRAK vacation with them from Chicago to Glacier National Park for my wife's birthday in June. They didn't tell me that the park would still be snowed in and the activities included in the package would not be available. I cancelled. Even though I had bought their travel insurance they would not return $200 instead giving me a credit for another trip. The credit expired in less than a year. So I'm out $200 plus the cost of the worthless travel insurance. What a shabby operation.

Used this company through Amtrak tours and they lied about everything could not get payment or communicate with the Amtrak about my medical condition with my mask situation and decided that's the hotel they don't need to pay I told the front desk called them and I had called them twice now they want me to email them to ask for a refund after I called them and told them so they told me that I should be the one looking what state regulations are when traveling when I specifically asked them before booking about my face mask situation headed that was going to be a problem totally ruined my anniversary weekend Amtrak needs to cut ties with these people
