Great. People and old fashioned Airport
Great airport, bike trails right into Dayton from here
Great little airfield tucked behind a neighborhood along the Great Miami River in Dayton, Ohio. This place is pretty hidden, and hard to find if you don't know where it is. I really enjoyed that element of the place. It feels kind of like a secret.nnMy buddy is an airline pilot and hadn't flown any smaller planes in a while. So he got checked out in one of their Arrows and we toured around the area. In a couple of hours, we flew to Kentucky and then explored much of southwestern Ohio from the air. The Ohio River from a couple thousand feet is something to behold!nnThe plane was from the 70s and in good working order. The folks at the airfield were welcoming and friendly.nnI love the aerial approach and departure, as the airfield is surrounded on three sides by the winding Great Miami River. Really cool place!!nnAll and all, this was a great experience. I hope to come back again, when I'm in town next time.
Friendliest place on earth and the lowest Avgas price around!!
