My all time favorite place I have visited in New York. From the amazing star alignment cathedral ceilings to the countryside farmers market in the train station. If you are in New York it is definitely a place to visit and take the train if you can! Also make sure to have a good camera, there is really no lighting in there so when a picture is taken it sometimes will come out very dim.

Ah, Grand Central Station. It's grand, and it's central!

This is a beautiful piece of architecture. It's spacious with its huge dome with some kind of astronomical painting above and only columns around on four sides but none in the middle.nnPay special attention to the various walkway junctions, where you can experiment with noise transmission through the structure by whispering to a corner with your hands cupped, and your friend will be able to hear your talking on the diagonal opposite end.

This is a train station, an art gallery, shopping & dining complex, events venue, tourist attraction and has a fixed historic landmark status.nnThis beloved Grand Station of NYC was taken for granted back in the day and was very close to being torn down just like Penn Station until Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis stepped in and saved it. Otherwise all New Yorkers would be travelling underground like other rats in the city.nnAlso what you see today with your open mouths is a glittering, shining marble building but it took 12 years of restoration to remove decades of pollution, grime and gunk that covered its beautiful ceiling. After all it is in New York.
