Seward Park Library

This library has a ton of resources. Went to the Seward Park Library today on the lower level 2 to do some audio recording/sound engineering project. They also have graphic arts work stations, 3d printers and a mill.

Glad they're still running even after covid. It's not their fault, but you aren't allowed to use the computers there and you have to leave right after you grab the book you want.

Good selection of books. Especially Spanish and Chinese books. The children’s play area has good toys (pre-pandemic). I find the secret is to take kids during one of the story times, then all the other parents will take their kids to the storytime and you will have the play area to yourself

I started to take my toddler for Story Time this September. I found that conditions at Story Time 90% of the time are unsafe: the room is overcrowded, adults blocking the exit door. It took me 2 months to make the library comply with public occupancy limit that they were exceeding most of the time! The branch and district managers were super slow to react to the issues I pointed out and make necessary changes only I spoke with higher management.nnAnother struggle on its own is Story Time schedule that is toddler unfriendly. Class is available at 11.15 am on Monday and Thursday, 11 and 11.30 am on Tuesday and Wednesday. It’s been very hard to make management understand an average toddler routine: Lunch at 12 pm and midday nap at 12.30 pm.
