This place is amazing. My partner and I were walking around Hayes valley looking for a place to eat for our anniversary. We saw a line sat this place...everyone waiting to get in. We decided to try it since it was something new and I never had German food ever. Service to food to experience was great. I would recommend this place to all my friends.

Amazing beer selection and delicious/authentic german food. Small and packed but seated us quicker than expected. Community tables allowed us to meet new friends. Loved our time there!

I visited this place twice already - and I love their food and beer. Schnitzel might be a bit on the thicker side, but it's not greasy at all - very crispy outside and meat is tender though. Got an order of beer + lemonade drink (forget what it's called), which was also perfect; the right ratio of beer and lemonade (compared to the one in biergarten which was too sweet for me). My Gf says it brings back his memories from Germany ;)

I was shocked that four hours at the Neue Galerie New York was not enough for me! Next time I will dedicate the entire eight hours to the experience.nThis is truly a wonderful event in SoCal. Take the subway, stroll through a wide variety of galleries, sip wine and meet the artists, and bask in the slightly frightening yet strangely alluring glow of Downtown!

To the reviewer who realized the admission price is astronomical: the impoverished also adore great art. We stand in queue on Friday nights from well before 5pm for FREE admission. It's crowded inside, but I focus so it's just me and the all-consuming paintings. The Neue Glerie. does love the poor!
