Matteo Jewelry By Design

I searched a few places before going to Matteo (they had the highest reviews in the Las Cruces area) and I was really happy. The woman behind the counter was super friendly, let me try on rings and necklaces before I purchased and even provided a longer chain for the pendant I purchased. She wasn't overbearing and let me poke around. I was looking for some turquoise rings and necklaces because ~when in New Mexico~ and picked up two great pieces and saw a few others I may have to swing back and check out.

The store is great, unique pieces, fun pieces and wide price range. A little something for every one. Plus they carry gorgeous leather bags. I purchased a cross body rich red brown with embossed design.

Not really a gift shop attached to the historical restaurant but a jewelry store of its own. But since it is attached it is worth checking out while waiting for a table when it's busy or before leaving. Selection is eclectic; some high end some simple. Staff friendly and helpful, not pushy. Of course when my stomach is full I'm happy and maybe tend to spend more. Me wife and I were “only looking” and considered it part of our tourist experience, but we ended up buying a fancy stonework pocket knife, a turquoise and silver necklace, a couple silver and gold bracelets, and a beaded necklace.

Unique pieces for all types of styles. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices especially since they looked more pricey.

Beautiful jewelry and reasonable prices. I will be returning.
