Denville Municipal Court

Terrible court. First of all, there was no parking. I had to park at the special needs part of the elementary school next door and walk in the rain.nnAlthough I had an attorney, I was still there for 2 hours. They took forever to start the court. They started at 9:45 AM and not 9:00 AM.nnThe prosecutor was sinile, mumbles a lot, and imposes heftier fines on people and he even mentioned jail time. The prosecutor was acting rude towards one of the cases I seen while I was waiting and he denied the law when the person's attorney (client who was in the right) was telling him the accurate laws. Then the prosecutor pulled them to the side and resolve it, which delayed court even more.nnAlso, this town is racist and targeting males in their 20s. Almost everybody who went to court today were non-white males in their 20s. I will encourage people to never move into this redneck neighborhood where the law enforcement target minorities. The law DOES discriminate! I will never drive through this town again until I hit 40 or if I could at least pass for white.

Terribly run court. First off there is no parking. They have a very limited number of spaces which are all taken. Everything else is for official vehicles or police vehicles.nThey dont start even close to on time. You can expect to be there the better part of the morning and into the afternoon.nPlan on wasting your day here.

These thieves think its fun to hand out parking tickets for no reason

The most backwards process I have seen in a long time. It feels like they run their system as additional punishment for getting a ticket. Called offices to reschedule more than 5 times leaving messages and when i finally reached a person she said we dont waste time calling back. My question than why have a VM. Unnecessarily wastes the community members time and with the excuse that they are understaffed. While Judge is judgemental in sentencing and bullies the defendants into commiting to more than they explain they can handle to avoid delayed payments. Smirked and said whatever when i explai ed that i could not pay in full. Even had to explain that i had a new mortgage and medical bills to cover. I understand that someone should not put themselves in a situation to be in court, but no one is perfect and sometimes things happen. I was in court from 0830 to 3pm.

very disorganized court. the judge is very strict and always has a stupid smirk on his face like it pleases him to give people excessive penalties. if you don't have a lawyer, expect to be there until the afternoon
