District at Metuchen

I have been around this area for over 15 years. I lived in Highland park before. When I moved near Metuchen the town was quite compared the vibrancy of Highland Park. But recently Metuchen Has Transformed itself and in my opinion has surpassed Highland Park as a town to be. Even Covid-19 has not stopped Metuchen moving Forward. The idea of building housing in the center of town was brilliant. It attracted young professionals that can take the train to New York for a 40 min ride. The Whole Foods market added the town feeling. The Greek and many other new restaurants are making it a cosmopolitan town. I can't wait to see what the new art center will bring to the town. I have lots of respect for the leadership of the town including many organizations that worked hard to create a new town that still kept its sleepy character but at the same time added the vibrancy that young people demand to move to the town. Bravo Metuchen leadership!

quaint little town, beautiful , great neighborhood, small shops, but lovely people.

Stopped. By to kill some time on a cold night after missing a train. Not alot to just browse at, but managed to find a few items at whole food

The food at the metuchen diner is always goid and the staff is always friendly and very helpful
