I have reviewed dozens of BBQ places that range from so-so to excellent. I am just not sure what to say about this place. Given the current 4.9 rating I have to assume that I got a bad batch of take-out ribs. The ribs were under cooked and really tough. I only had two and wrapped the rest in foil and put them in a low oven when I got home to finish cooking them. They came with sauce all over them, which is my fault since I forgot to ask for sauce on the side. I have found that the best BBQ places do not put sauce on ribs as a matter of pride in the BBQ itself. I thought they forgot the cornbread but when I pulled the ribs from the (way too small) foil tray, I saw a mashed piece of cornbread soaking in sauce.nOn a positive note the folks there were very friendly and the beans and slaw were quite tasty.nI should go back and try it again and if I do, I will update this review.

You must try this place. I and my girlfriend just happened to stumble in and wow. The food is outstanding. But don't waste time just sitting or standing by. Step on in and try to food for yourself. I believe you won't be dissatisfied

I’ve passed by their truck many times and have often wanted to stop in.. well I finally did, at their newly opened restaurant in the plaza with Citizens Bank, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed! I am VERY picky about my ribs, so believe me when I say these were the BEST ribs I’ve had from any restaurant! Their house sauce is sooo delicious, and their portions are more than generous! I was forcing myself to try to finish my half rack of ribs that came with 3 sides because it was just that good!!nFor the sides I got their green beans with bacon, Mac and cheese, and fries. Which all were just as delicious as the ribs! The seasoning on the fries is the best I’ve ever had. Their Mac and cheese is perfectly cheesy, and the green beans with bacon was a delightful combo. Overall VERY happy that decided to try R & J BBQ! I suggest anyone even considering it to do the same!

Exceptional BBQ! Great portions, super cool and friendly staff and owners, and their new restaurant looks and feels unique and comfortable. You would be missing a great experience if you don't try R&J's! Delicious!

After years of driving by I read a review online about the Chicken and Waffles special, and knew I had to stop in to give it a try. I WAS SHOCKED. The chicken could not have been prepped or cooked better. All around one of the best meals I’ve had the pleasure of eating in quite some time. The side of Mac n Cheese was perfect as well, loved their own spin on everything. They are so nice, and the food came out very quick. Earned an instant customer! Thank you!!
