I am very remiss in posting a late review for Nicholas, simply because I did not (and do not) have the words to describe what an absolutely phenomenal instructor and example Mr. Burns was for our (then) tween daughter. She looked forward to practice (!!) so she could come prepared to learn more from him each week. He set a standard of musical excellence that inspired her beyond measure. He was the first instructor we have had that WELCOMED parents to sit in on lessons. What a difference that makes! I then understood what he was trying to impart to her and what his expectations were as her teacher. I can't say enough about his abilities and capabilities to teach.
After 40 years with no lessons while barely maintaining a small repertoire, and now with an empty nest, I decided to get back into the piano. From the very beginning, Nick zeroed in on exactly what I needed, from technique to the more artistic aspects of what it means to make MUSIC with the piano. My aim is to credibly play Chopin, Beethoven, Albinez, and Nick has put me on the right path, opening my eyes to so many aspects of how to play. Thank you Nick!
I have been taking lessons from Nick for four months, and I am so impressed with the caliber of Nick's teaching ability. There are a lot of gifted musicians who are not great teachers, but Nick is an incredible musician who is also an incredible teacher.
