This is a friendly small town fuel stop and general store. They make a nice piece of chicken here, you can get a pizza and do a little grocery shopping. I stop regularly to buy supplies for the truck, and it's become a regular dinner stop. Plenty of parking for big trucks like mine, and the folks who run the place are happy to see you.

Have been stopping in at the Cubby’s in Shelby for a few years now. Each time I stop the Customer Service and the quality of cleanliness has gotten worse. Today’s visit brought this review. I wanted to order something from the hot case and was ignored as the hot case person stood there and gossiped and chowed down her onion rings. My questions about livers was answered with a “I just work here” very unprofessional and impolite attitude. After that disheartening conversation I proceed to go to the bathroom and could not believe the nastiness of the bathroom. You could not even sit on the toilet. The place just made me feel as if I could catch Covid-19. Grubby finger prints all over the counters and cashier area. I hope they think about their appearance and impact they have in this small community and step it up a notch.

The chicken and mac and cheese is very delicious. Only complaint is the consistency of the size of portion you get from the mac and cheese. One day the container is filled full and the next its either 3/4s full or even half full.

We came in and saw something we wanted to purchase. The price on it was 99 cents. The person in charge wouldn't give it to us at that price even though it was labeled at that price. Seemed a bit petty on their part. But hey, I guess they don't stand behind themselves. We have no problem taking our business elsewhere.

What a great little community store on the east side of Shelby, Nebraska! I had been to Shelby in over 30 years and really enjoyed stopping at this location. Sure maintenance in the restrooms could have been a little better, BUT the whole store was really inviting. There is a place to sit and eat for the locals to have conversation. There is a nice grocery store attached to gas station. Also, it is the home of the 75 cent ice cream cone. Going here brought back many small town Nebraska memories. I will stop in next time that I am in town!
