The fines are absolutely unacceptable. I have to pay a $3000 fine for a bench warrant. The maximum fine for the average bench warrant is $1000. Even after that they’re making me pay for the other charges on top of that and I can only imagine how much they’re going to milk my wallet for when this is all done.

Haven't gone through the system yet so may update review but there isn't a hope in H E Double Hockey Sticks that a ticket takes 5 days to process. People of Draper and their government should be ashamed they don't have some kind of automated data entry system in 2020. Bureaucracy at its finest!

Draper city's money printing business. The whole process is dehumanizing and done with a cold callousness that is focused on moving cases through the system, not on actual justice. They take you into a small court room and the prosecutor tries to "be your friend" while you wait an hour for the judge to come out. The judge goes through a handful of cases, then decides it's time for a long break. He exits and the prosecutor goes back to ferreting information out of the scared and desperate. I, for one, refuse to give money to this corruption and insisted on paying my debt to society (speeding ticket) via community service.

my husband went in and the judge excused hundreds of dollars for everyone but when he came up and had already paid his fine he chose to keep his money and not issue the refund they promised “if you pay we will refund you some when you come to court” , maybe not the profile he liked? idk horrible service from their staff aswell

I posted under Macy Madison.. .Drug patch for a freakin no insurance ticket. The judge actually said that I must not be paying insurance because i was on drugs, I really wasn't on drugs at the time. But i did fall into a drug problem unfortunately yes. And I did admit this to the judge when i was brought in on a warrant for not applying the drug patch. So I was supposed to do this darn patch, and refused. Judge (and also a clerk) told me he (the judge) was helping and he knew a little bit more about addiction then I did. He had a daughter previously OD. And although I apologize for his loss, I would like to know how testing an addict helps them. An addict doesn't magically stop because "Oh the judge put a drug patch on me, well I better stop what Im doing here and be good" No...A high percentage of addicts have past trauma in their lives and do not have healthy coping mechanisms so they use illicit substances to self medicate. If you want to "help" an addict you don't put a drug test patch on them that makes them scared of testing dirty and going to jail again. You order them into some kind of treatment. Inpatient rehab, Out Patient Rehab, Counseling, ANYTHING that actually helps then a friggin test where they feel like they are being judged. I dealt with FOUR years of being picked up and hauled into jail over this NO INSURANCE TICKET. Because everytime I got a "mandatory 180 day" warrant put out when I didn't comply. So I got picked up by cops and brought in on 4 or 5 different occasions to sit in jail for a week and be brought into court after a week and get told to put the drug patch back on. Thank the lord the prosecutor (Where did he come from all the sudden?) Was there my last time and just closed the case with my jail time. So thank you judge Byrtch for letting me admit to a judge for the first time 4 years ago that I had a problem, thank you for recognizing my problem. Thank you for wanting to help me, but you didn't actually help me. Treatment then Patch.
