Do not waste your time doing the public works certificate. There is a reason that the classes have 4-6 students at most. The instructors never stop to mention that you will find a career in public works, that is not true. I did the certificate and need to to the internship to receive it, let me tell you that I have not found a stable job. The municipalities are paying from 10-14 an hour and will only hire you as a seasonal. It is not worth your money or time to do this program. Look for a different program other than public works. Now I will have to look for a different program that I can actually get a good benefit out of it.
Computer Science credits from HTC do NOT transfer into the University of Minnesota. As a college, HTC doesn't really have much to offer. The student clubs are sparse-to-none; the teachers and classes are bare-minimum (they don't even teach Calculus 1 here, for instance), but hey, at least it's cheap.

Should have picked a different program. Programming associate degree was a total waste of time. Teachers were good overall but you'll need to become a solid programmer after the program or get a bachelor's degree in order to secure any interviews.
I started at HTC as PSEO student in 2014. I been going here ever since! I like that it's a cheaper option. It's also close to my house so that's convenient! The staff has been pretty good only ever had one kind of rude teacher for my intro to creative writing class. I have had some of the same teachers for a few of my classes which is fine.
