The lines are long and not enough open cash register

You know, I have always been a Die-Hard Meijer Shopper. For the first time I am seriously thinking on moving my main shopping elsewhere.nnWhy? It is a mix, mostly I feel the quality of fresh perishables have taken a downward trend next to other stores I have began to visit in the area. The other reason is the employees just seem agitated by the customers. It is more about tone, not anything rude. They just seem sad, which then makes me feel really sad.nnI have went to a couple competitors down the road, and there are more smiles. Aisles are cleaner, less obstacles to navigate, and something tells me there is less selection. I feel like I am not at Meijer of old, but one of the low budget stores where you just expect it. The store (Novi) just seems tired and old. Not fresh.nnThere is not a particular person or instance that makes me feel this way, it is across time. I have shopped Meijer for over 50 years and I am really not happy about this feeling I get. I am very much a non-complainer.nnI am hoping management reads this and looks around at what the competition is doing right, and the opportunities Meijer could make to save long term customers that may be feeling this way.nnWhat do you think?

Self check out is always a hold up. Carts are all over the parking lot. So grab one on your way in because they do not have any inside. There will be a kind person that greet you though. Makes sense to employ a greeter but not a cashier!

Clean, accessable. Customers don't seem to care about direction order but that's on them.

They have a lot of great items to choose from all over the store. But it would be so much better if the cat food aisle was stocked better. If you're looking for cat food and it is during the evening, you're not going to find a whole lot of selection.
