They kept playing “Cotton Eyed Joe” every time I went here to do my sets. It’s a good song, but come on. Following the owner’s instructions I was told that I need to lift “my dad over my head” in order to make him proud. I thought that was weird, but I did it. Not sure it helped, but it did give me something to latch my whole identity to. Two stars cuz the free baklava is pretty okay.
Definitely a unique experience to me, new-ish to the Kalamazoo area so curious if this is just the “gym culture” of the region. Nice diversity of equipment, fairly clean space, no frills/amenities but seems fair for the price. I did request a change of music and was (politely) informed that they exclusively play novelty songs from Swedish pop groups of the 90s. I worked one-on-one with a trainer who explained to me that my pursuit of fitness was actually the result of an unresolved Electra Complex. Anyway, I've now dialed in my perfect bulk/cut cycle for fighting my mom for the attentions of my dad. Very interested in trying the group classes, I could hear shouts of “Kumite!” which sounded super supportive!
Smear campaign lowering their rating. God bless these guys and thank you for standing for what you believe in.
I was harassed by a man there more times than I can count and had to shut down my account. Management didn't seem to care.
Horrible with account cancellations. Watch out for the fine print in contracts and “auto-renewals” that can come up even once your contract is completely over.
