This was a pretty miserable renting experience. I rented for a short term job assignment along with my wife and young children. Shortly after we arrived we were informed that our home was for sale and Fletcher, the owner and real-estate agent, wanted to bring a constant stream of mostly out-of-state people through our home. Further, that they preferred us to be out of the house every time they wanted to bring somebody through. This was incredibly uncomfortable with our young kids and especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. During one of these viewings someone, likely checking the stove for function, left the selector partially open and we returned to a house full of propane fumes. Even after informing them there was no apology, rather they denied that it was possible that the stove was touched during the home viewing. We felt a significant lack of professionalism from Summer Maine and we were very disappointed with our stay.

We rented Driftwood in St. George. We called ahead to make sure there were fans or ac and were told each bedroom had a fan. When we arrived we discovered that there were no fans. I contacted SummerMaine and got the answering service. Within the hour I got a response and within 2 hours we had enough fans for each bedroom! The house was very clean and well set up. I am very pleased with the service and will use them again if ever renting in the area.

I am still trying to get my refund for a vacation cancelled due to Covid-19. I have left several messages, emails and still no response. They actually encouraged me to come from a Covid hot spot and not worry about the quarantine!

Due to Summermaine Rentals not doing the right thing in refunding my trip to ME because of COVID 19 I will never use their services again. I ended up getting a refund but only because Airbnb did the right thing and refunded the money. Unacceptable in my book!

If you’re searching for a rental in Maine please use Summer Maine. The service, attention to detail, and thoughtfulness these ladies put into making your vacation perfect is something you won’t find many other places.
