My wife and I stayed here over a weekend in October. We stayed in the Thomas room which met our needs. The room was quaint but manageable. It was a little smaller than I expected. The location is close to downtown but please note, this location is above the downtown area so one will have to walk up and down the hills if you don't drive. Since we stayed during COVID season, I felt this location did not do enough to mitigate exposure to the virus. The host tried to reassure us he was tested (which is great) but it only specifies a certain time frame. In addition, the breakfast area was not separated so everyone staying and having breakfast ate at one large table within close proximity to each other. I felt this was odd when the restaurants downtown only allowed outdoor seating at the time.

Tom is a very genuine host and it's clear to me that he's passionate about the property. We stayed over a quieter weekend, and Tom spent the extra time he had on his hands tending to the large lawn space next to the inn. We had reserved the Carriage House, which although connected to the main building is only accessible from the back. Unfortunately this room didn't seem to receive the same attention the rest of the property did, and definitely didn't have the same kind of charm.

Beautiful place with great views of Galena Il. Highly recommended! Great staff and breakfast too!

This place made our weekend getaway to Galena more romantic. The place took us back in time with the vast collection of antiques and the attention to details in decorating the house from wallpaper to furnitures showed the passion of the owners (Tom and Kathleen). The location was very near downtown Galena which made it very convenient. Tom and Kathleen were gracious hosts and the breakfast they prepared were amazing and very filling. I loved the garden view room that we stayed at. The view of the sunrise was breathtaking. I wanted to thank Tom and Kathleen for a wonderful stay.

Quaint, quiet, comfortable. Passion is evident in this well renovated 1800’s brick residence with an overlooking view of a well manicured garden providing a peaceful gazebo worth relaxing in. Comfortably removed but around the corner from main, I highly recommend stopping by; the staff alone will make it an obvious option.
