This was a great place for a nice little getaway for a couple. The room was clean and cute. The hosts were very nice. The continental breakfast was perfect to start the day. The homemade baked goods were delicious. The location was walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The only complaint was there was traffic noise. We are sound sleepers so it was not a big issue for us.
Clean and protected well from Covid. Need to be able bodied with steep, narrow stairs. C+/rating. Will not recommend.
Find out where and what you are booking, we ended up on the second floor in room full of Angel's. Also maid needs to learn do not disturb means not to do room.
My husband and I visited this year for our anniversary, 5 years after our first stay back in 2015. Both times, we were very happy with our stay here. This year we stayed in the safari suite, which was large and does not disappoint when it comes to jungle decor! Yes, it's an old building and you can hear your upstairs neighbor, the doors are creaky, etc but for us this is all part of the charm and the B&B experience. One of the light bulbs was out in the bathroom, but my husband easily switched it with a bulb in a small lamp in another room. Because we planned our stay during the pandemic, I wasn't sure what kind of precautions would be taken here, but was very happy to see that the remotes were disinfected and wrapped in plastic, everything was super clean, and there was hand sanitizer provided in bathroom. We will continue to recommend to family and friends. Thanks for a great stay!
We spent Labor day long weekend and had the Safari Room. Very convenient location to explore Galena.
