Literally one of our favourite experiences!! We LOVED the atmosphere and feel of staying in this historic mansion, the hospitality throughout our stay, the detailed and intricate antique decor, the uniqueness of each room, and the hosts!!! It felt like we were guests being hosted at a friends home and it was such a lovely time! The breakfasts and coffee were delicious, and the afternoon drinks and cheese and evening cookies was an added treat. We miss it so much and wish we had stayed longer! Seriously some of the most wonderful hosts we’ve interacted with! We’ll definitely be returning!!

My husband surprised me for my birthday by taking us on a nice getaway to Galena. We stayed at The Steamboat House, Carol and her daughter were amazing hosts! We loved everything about the vintage mansion. They decorate for season and the Halloween, fall theme was very cozy. The breakfast was great! Due to covid we weren't all able to have breakfast together and we decided to have breakfast out in the gazebo and found that it was very peaceful and nice to have breakfast outside. We very much enjoyed our stay there and told everyone we could about The Steamboat House!

What a wonderful B&B! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The house is immaculate, beautiful, and true to period allowing the guests to fully immerse themselves in its Victorian charms. The front porch is super relaxing with its comfortable rocking chairs, and there are plenty of reading nooks throughout. Carol and her daughter are very hospitable and attentive to their guests truly adding to the experience.nnThe breakfasts were tasty and filling, and the wine as well as the cocoa and cookies were such a nice touch! It's an easy short walk to town. I highly recommend the Steamboat House!

We highly recommend The Steamboat House! We stayed at here on our first trip to Galena and we’re so impressed. We hadn’t ever stayed at a Bed & Breakfast so weren’t really sure what to expect but couldn’t have had a better experience. Everything was very clean and Covid friendly! Carol is so kind and welcoming. The home is beautiful and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. The wine at 5 PM was a lovely time to explore the beautiful house. You can see the amount of care Carol puts into everything with the seasonal decorations and the pristine condition of the house. We stayed in Viola and really appreciated the fireplace in our room and morning coffee right outside the door! We will definitely be back!

What an incredible place to stay! So clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were homemade and some of the best food we had on our whole trip! Carol was so friendly and the complimentary wine, cookies, and coffee made us feel right at home. Would definitely stay here again.
