Avis Car Rental

These people are complete frauds my mom rented a car from them and before she left the lot she noticed a crack in the windshield. She went back in to tell them that it was a crack and they did nothing so a couple months later they send a letter in the mail saying there charging her for it even though she had told the guy that there was a crack don’t rent from these people they are rude and they don’t take responsibility very unorganized company.

My sister reserved a 7 seat passenger van 2 days prior of our mother funeral. Well the day of the funeral we went there to pick up the van and the guy told us sorry I don't have the van nor did he try to accommodate us. He told us the van is on the way but he doesn't know what time sorry with an attitude.We were scheduled to pick up the van at 9am because we needed to be at the funeral home by 11:30. Plus we called him the day before to confirm and requested a black vehicle. He said he couldn't guarantee the color or make but we will have a van. We said ok. The day of the pick up we arrived at 9 and there was no 7 passenger vehicle for us. Now there was a GMC Yukon in the lot but he said it was reserved for someone else. Really!! He called us after 11 to say the our van was there. Well it was too late!! We ended up being late for the funeral due we ended up having to go to Enterprise to rent. Oh one other thing I called Avis customer service 800 number and tried to explain to them what was going on. No help there either. He didn’t try to accommodate us either. I told the rep I was going to give a bad review. I was upset but I never cursed and The rep ended hanging up on me as I was trying to have him talk with the guy at the Avis car rental place to see how they could help us. I will never rent from Avis nor would I ever refer them. Very bad service.

Sorry to read the other reviews. I had a great experience. I picked up and dropped off on a Saturday. The woman working was pleasant and thorough on helping with the inspection. Everything went very smoothly.nnThe service was great, but the car could have been cleaner. Not sure where the servicing of returned vehicles is done (airport?). The main benefit was low taxes. Renting from the airport would have cost me 2x more just because of the airport fees. Totally worth getting a cab to rent off site!

I reserved a vehicle at the Oak Park Avis, and a couple of hours before I was supposed to pick it up, they called to tell me that the Logan Square location didn't deliver it to them, and didn't have enough employees there to deliver it before my pickup time. I was welcome to go to OP, process the rental, then drive the 25 minutes to Logan Square to actually get the vehicle. Ridiculous. I called around and rented from another company altogether. Logan Square's lack of service lost their company an expensive rental.
