The jail cell was small but cozy, temperature was fine but they also provided a blanket and an ok Matt to sleep on, although there was no switch to turn the light off. My stay was about 7 hours but I did occasionally get brought out for questioning. About 3 hours into my stay an officer asked if I wanted to eat lunch, he came back with a cheese burger, fries, and a large Coke from Chuck Wagon. That was probably the highlight of my time there. One complaint I have is that there is no clock visible anywhere from the jail cell, I had to put one end of a toilet paper roll into the metal toilet and track time based on how long it took the water to travel up each square of toilet papernnAt the end of my stay I was given 9 hours of community service for not snitching. Not bad considering they were trying to pin a felony on someone.

The Wilmette police department is a joke. I have had a personal experience, and have heard multiple stories of unlawful conduct, violation of a citizen's rights, and harassment. These police officers rarely see any action in the field other than traffic stops, and stolen bikes. Therefore they are just itching to bust someone, or add on a charge for anything they can. My advice is watch out, avoid them, and if you have an encounter CALL A LAWYER. These police will treat you unlawfully, and lie in till they get what they want. I am writing this review so people can be prepared, and aware of the crime these so called police officers commit on a regular basis.
