I was taken aback by a lady at the circulation desk. For starters, there is a sign posted upon entry that says stop at the desk for computer sign up. I stood in place (the only person waiting) for approximately 2 minutes. She was placing items from one cart to another, and only acknowledged my presence when I jingled my keys. When she asked if she could help me, it wasn't welcoming. I explained I was there for computer use and the sign said to stop at the desk first. She replied that's only if you don't have a library card. I stated the sign should be more specific. I also needed to use the ladies room. When she said she needed to buzz me in, I asked her to give me a moment, as I am disabled. She was buzzing before I had even started walking and I had to ask her to do so again when I actually got to the door. After using the computer, I had to go again. There was a different woman at the desk, which gave me ease, and I appreciated how she said to knock once I am at door 1 and she would buzz. What it showed is what we all know, some naturally interact with others cordially and others need work. So that's the reason for 4 stars versus 5.

I have been there on many occasions and I find it to be relaxing. The staff are helpful.

VERY nice place to go to for educational learning, catching up on things in the world, chatting with friends or building relationship, it is there for anyone.

Ample collection of Black authored books on wide ranging subjects. Also has a large PC Commons area if you need to use a computer on-site. Two one hour sessions allowed but during coronavirus pandemic currently only one per day. Many opportunities to find quiet reading area.
