Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library

Review Visit: April 11th, 2012nnLeaf through the pages of history at this library.nnFor the amount of stories contained in the walls of this library, I have little to say about it. It was one of the stops my friend Matt and I made during one of trips to Springfield. We stopped here with no prior knowledge of what the library actually was. Turns out it’s just that. A library where you can check out books and do research. In my head, I was expecting more of a museum of books and stuff from Lincolns days as a lawyer.nnOnce we quickly realized it was an actual library, we left as to not be a disturbance to those who were there. Why even bother writing a post for the library then? Because it’s a place where a lot of students go to study. It’s a place that pays tribute to a legendary president. Plus, there is a cool Abraham Lincoln Museum that is connect to the Library. So, if you check one out, you might as well check the other out as well. Plus, since I was in and out so quick, I may have missed some stuff the library presents that isn’t included in the museum or is unique to the location. Also, this was nearly a decade ago, so they may have changed a lot of stuff since then.nnEither way, libraries in general tend to be a unique place to visit and offer a wealth of information and services for free. If you can’t check this one out, try visiting your local one to see what they offer. You might learn something new if you do.
