Best photo op ever! This opportunity to capture the beautiful city of St. Louis in your back drop is not to be missed. A few (5) minutes of the beaten path, and tucked away next to the mighty Mississippi, this elevated ramp offers easy access to an epic photo. Pet friendly, too!

The site is gorgeous, not many people when we stopped great view! However you have to go through the hood to get to it. We stopped to get gas just 2 minutes from this and watched a drug deal happen IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. Also while my husband was pumping gas another couple was on the other side of the gas pump getting gas and told my husband to get out of here it was a very bad neighborhood. He said he was going to wait to leave until he got back in the van. Stop only in the morning hours, have enough fuel and don't stop anywhere nearby this site!

The observation deck at the western end of the park is very nice, and has a great view of the river and arch. I misread information online and thought the geyser went off multiple times a day - it does not, only at noon. I had read that it was supposed to be as tall as the Gateway Arch (630 ft), but we estimated it to be more around 100 ft. The smaller perimeter fountains were under repair while we were there also. our biggest issue, however, was that the bathrooms were inexplicably closed (and we made two visits to this park due to the time misunderstanding). East St Louis, IL, where this park is located, is a very abandoned part of town. Therefore, there are also no restrooms unless you head back to St Louis proper and find a restaurant or something. It makes it a very difficult visit to this park.

The geyser is really cool, especially if you have little kids. My 7 year old we t crazy when it shot as high as it goes.nnPlease note it's at 12 noon, 3pm and 6pm, going for about 10 minutes so you could miss it if not prompt.

Disappointing. The generators are so noisy you can't even hear the geyser go off. At first it's a wimpy fountain, and slowly builds up. Not the Ol' Faithful jet I was expecting.
