It's just sitting there. You can't go in and nobody upkepts it.

It is certainly an interesting piece of French History, but it is in bad shape. The whole buildings could use funding from Illinois since it is a state site, but it has not gone this house's way in years. It could also use more historical interpretation or expertise, but since it has no money coming to it there can be none. The inside of the building is almost completely barren with only a couple of things inside. In order to get inside you have to call the Cahokia Visitor center for them to open it up for you. Overall it is nice to go visit just to look at.

Cool building. Not a lot to see. Good stop if you're following the Kaskaskia to Cahokia trail.

I enjoy going yo historic sites but unfortunately Illinois is not good with their money and have closed a lot of their historical sites. Maybe one day you will be able to tour the building again.
