This is a really nice motel. even though it's called a hotel. in a very small town. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and it's just a nice place to stay. Would highly recommend it to anyone staying in this area.
This is the 2ND time we stayed at green acres. The first visit was great last year prior to COVID. This visit I can’t say the same. Even though staff wear masks, the hotel rented out the main open area breakfast area, which connects to the main foyer, to a private party of about 10 adults that didn't socially distance or wear masks. The is Jan 2021, when most of Illinois and Iowa are wearing masks and the pandemic is raging. It was completely planned, reprehensible and irresponsible for the hotel to allow this to happen. We cancelled our last night there after this event. It shows little regard to the well being of its guests.
You don't expect.much from.these older.inn style places. However, since it was the only place in town we had to try it. Pleasantly surprised by how clean and modern it was. We stayed two nights and had a great stay. Good beds and a good shower. We met the owner and she is as sweet as can be. My buddy talked deer hunting to her and her friemds. I will definitely be back there. Don't judge a book by its cover.
Fair rates, hygenic rooms, and courteous staff. The only things to be awate of ahead of time are the complimentary breakfast was a bit spartan and the wifi doesnt have alot of bandwidth.
We stayed in the new building. Very nice and tidy. Employees were kind and helpful. Good continental breakfast too. I would stay here again.
