Jefferson Country Store

Everything you expect from a local family owned general store in the heart of dixie, sweet home Alabama. Best hamburger you will ever put in your mouth for 5 dollars, and I can't wait to taste the bbq.

The atmosphere is very friendly. The food is the around. Bbq and burgers were the best today. Will be back for the fish when it is prepared again !!!

Cooked to perfection with attention to detail. The Pimento Cheese is homemade and top notch. The homemade BBQ Sauce (Sa'rday Sauce) will cause you to give thanks for your tastebuds. Literally can not wait for a return to JeffersonnSERVICE: From the moment we walked in, we felt like locals coming home for a bite to eat. Owners Tony and Betsy were incredible! For being in what we saw as the middle of nowhere, it stayed busy! Yet they made sure our experience was greatnATMOSPHERE: As I said at the beginning, everything you'd think you'd find in a backroads country store. Nostalgia from floor to ceiling and wall to wall. Football helmets from local teams, concert posters, relics from the past... incredible. I could have stayed and looked for hours.nFAMILIES, GROUPS, ETC: There are several table spaces to sit and eat. Space is limited though but it shouldn't deter anyone from stopping. This is a place where you catch a seat anywhere to enjoy this.nVERDICT: We will go out of our way to go to Jefferson and so should you!nNOTE: April and October, the town and store are host to a MASSIVE BBQ fundraiser with more than 2,000lbs of pork shoulder being cooked. We are literally making our return trip just for this!

Excellent lunch. Catfish was fried just right, baked beans were exceptional, and cole slaw was delicious. Definitely worth the drive to Jefferson, AlabamanOwners Tony and Betsy are always so friendly
